What stays after the electricity leaves?

A long-lived energy project can be an anchor for a long-lived relationship with its region.

Give the relationship a structure.

A statement about helping nature is only a starting point. A regional programme needs a defined contribution, a decision process, an accountable delivery organisation and a way to measure progress.

Your.Earth is being developed around those requirements. The proposed model links participating energy revenue to local priorities, with the terms agreed for each project.

Let the place set the question.

Water security is an identified programme concept in Namibia’s Zambezi Region. The right first step is to understand the local water system and the people who depend on it.

A diagnostic study can establish where interventions are needed, which organisations should be involved and what evidence will show whether the programme works. Investment should follow that understanding.

Return to the starting point.

Measurement matters because it allows a programme to change course. Record the baseline, the funding, the intervention and the outcome. A credible story includes what did not work as well as what did.

Regeneration with a starting point in Namibia.

Our planned 100 MWp solar project in Namibia, with intended electricity supply to Zambia, is in development with a nature-inclusive design and a connection to Your.Earth. Water security in Namibia’s Zambezi Region is an identified programme concept.
