At Electriffy, we are proud to announce that we have received approval from the Office of the Vice President of Namibia for the development of a 200 MW Hybrid Power Plant in Tsumeb, Oshikoto Region. This approval is in line with the country’s aim to achieve a sustainable energy mix and promote the growth of Namibia’s energy industry.
Our nature-inclusive solar park will contribute to Namibia’s energy security. In addition, the project will create new jobs and contribute to the local economy, while reducing the environmental footprint of energy production.
This project is part of the broader initiative of the Harambee Prosperity Plan, Growth at Home Strategy and the National Development Plan within Vision 2030, and will contribute to the country’s national development goals. We are committed to working closely with both public and private sector stakeholders to ensure that our project complies with national and international legal, environmental and regulatory requirements.
The support from the Vice President’s office underscores Namibia’s ambition to be an example of sustainable energy and economic growth. The successful implementation of this project will not only strengthen Namibia’s energy infrastructure, but also have a positive impact on the environment and the quality of life of the population.
We are pleased with our collaboration with the Namibian government and believe that this project can become a model for other countries in the region and globally as they strive for a more sustainable future for their energy supply. Together we are taking an important step towards a greener and prosperous future for Namibia and the world.
